• Initial phase 
• Classical phase 
• Declining phase 
• Parody phase 

The film Airport went through all these phases,

• Initial phase - Airport 
• Classical phase - The Towering Inferno 
• Declining phase - Airport 80: The Concord 
• Parody phase - Airplane!
