Filming
Today we went out and re filmed some of the stage scene, because our first attempt at the stage scene were ok but we couldn't see the main singer moving his lips so it looked like he wasn't singing at all. Even thought we recorded several attempts they were still kind of the same.
That is why today when went out to film we made sure that we can see the singers lips also we did some extra shots that wasn't in our original plan but we just cam up with the idea on the day. overall we recorded more shots than we had intended.

Info on the band "The Silent Film Project"
This band is a rock/indie group.
This next part has been taken from Unsigned.com , and this is basically the band talking about them self.
This next part has been taken from Unsigned.com , and this is basically the band talking about them self.
Hailing from the rather picturesque steeltown of Scunthorpe, Silent Film Project are a five piece musical adventure. The quintet draw from many influences covering a broad spectrum, ranging from Simon and Garfunkel to The Dismemberment Plan.
Dual male/female vocals are provided by Paul and Lisa, with Paul also playing acoustic guitar and Lisa shaking and rattling anything she can find, as well as providing glockenspiel. The rhythm department consists of Phill on drums and Jim on Bass, whilst Tom plays guitars.
The project is a few years old and the band have three EPs to their name, and are crafting their sound for a new release in the next six months. The new and as yet unrecorded songs are taking on a bouncier feel which may be something we will be seeing more of in the group in the future.
For now the best way to sample the new material is to catch the band live on one of their regular gigs around the North and Midlands, so amble along to a gig and find out what jangly audio joy these four boys and one girl have to offer your ears. Check the band's official site or their Myspace page to keep up to date with the band on tour.
Time table for filming
Before we started to film we decided to make a timetable showing what we was going to do on each day.

Information on Copyright
Copyright is basically someone producing something and then saying its copyrighted, which means that no one els can copy their idea as they had it first.
This is another definition of what copyright means:
This is another definition of what copyright means:
"A copyright is a set of exclusive rights granted by a state to the creator of an original work or their assignee for a limited period of time upon disclosure of the work. This includes the right to copy, distribute and adapt the work. In most jurisdictions copyright arises upon fixation and does not need to be registered. Copyright owners have the exclusive statutory right to exercise control over copying and other exploitation of the works for a specific period of time, after which the work is said to enter the public domain. Uses covered under limitations and exceptions to copyright, such as fair use, do not require permission from the copyright owner, but all other uses require permission. Copyright owners can license or permanently transfer or assign their exclusive rights to others.
Initially copyright law applied to only the copying of books. Over time other uses such as translations and derivative works were made subject to copyright. Copyright now covers a wide range of works, includingmaps, sheet music, dramatic works, paintings, photographs, architectural drawings, sound recordings, motion pictures and computer programs. The British Statute of Anne 1709, full title "An Act for the Encouragement of Learning, by vesting the Copies of Printed Books in the Authors or purchasers of such Copies, during the Times therein mentioned", was the first copyright statute." The lyrics
These are the lyrics for the song "Singer Song Writer"
I'm offered forty six of the communicators gifts
I've wasted every drop of ink and every borrowed pencil lead
pretending i have seen something that's not been seen before
in the dusty carpet dirty cups and boot prints on my door
forgive me but i don't know what i'm for or against
I've not read what i'm sending to you all but it's yours
Name me after a Van Gogh spillage
I know where to go in the city
to the places that make heroes of the fools
singing stories of their wasted chances broken rules
I've settled every one of my re-occuring arguments
with a fiction that i lifted from the news and the news you brought
of the punches and the salmon that you caught
whilst living in the real world without me
forgive me but i don't know what i've brought to this party
and i'm drunk on things i wouldn't normally drink and broken hearted
I'm a lucky one it's how Willie Nelson started and perhaps
Paul Simon's gonna harmonise with me someday
I'm offered forty six of the communicators gifts
I've wasted every drop of ink and every borrowed pencil lead
pretending i have seen something that's not been seen before
in the dusty carpet dirty cups and boot prints on my door
forgive me but i don't know what i'm for or against

Talking about Digipak
At first glance this digipak for "Albert Hammond Jr - Yours to keep" looked like the song was for kids. Then we listened to the song and it changed my opinion completely as the song started to feel like taking certain paths with important people in your life. So in this case it would be going through certain situations with the band.
As you can see they copied the design of the cover to the disk to continue the feel of the cover. And the bunnies on the cover represents each member of the band as there is three of them and if you look closely there is three bunnies on the main cover.

Focus group
We filmed some people but then asked some more people of screen.
A. upbeat- tap your feet, enthusiastic/fun/light. You can dance to it because it has a steady beat.
Q. What ideas do you get from this song?
A. Boy and girl together, being outside on a sunny day. Couples being happy and silly together.
Q. How often do you go on music channels?
A. Very rarely if at all.
Q. What is your favourite song?
A. David Bowie - life on mars
Q. Name an artist/band that this reminds you of?
A. The smiths - the lead singer. also the band kooks.
From this audience research we found out what people want to see in a music video and what they dont want to see, so from this we have decided to have a girl and a boy singing together. They also said that some music video are too dull and boring so they suggested that we go out and have fun and put that in the music video. They said to record the fun scenes we should go down to Central London.
We will be also looking at other music videos that will be similar to ours for inspiration on what to have on our music video, and that will be rock genre and most of there videos will be about the band having fun.
Treatment
Cast and Crew
The resources that we will need is singers and the main singer will be Billy and the two back ups will be Rilwan and Myles. For the ladies part in the song we still haven't found a female singer that will help us in our music blog.

Equipment
And the equipment that we will need are drums, guitar, and a microphone.
These were some of the equipment that will be needed during the filming of the music scene.
Location
The place we are going to be filming is in central London, we will be going round to landmarks that everyone knows about make the video as fun as possible.
This is one of the location that we will be filming outside as it is a Landmark. Also we thing that this is suitable because it would mean that went out to other different locations rather just staying in the hall.
We also want to go outside the O2 Arena to film, because again we wanted to make our film adventurous and not dull by staying in one place. We will also need the hall which wasn't hard to find.

How to increase sales
The way we would increase our sales would be to make the song appealing to everyone by making the video entertaining or by making the song more appealing to everyone. Because people who already like an artist will get there songs whether they like it or not because they are fans. so to make sure that you make sure you appeal to everyone you have to make sure that you sometimes change your style a bit.

The Decision!
Today we had a group meeting and we was going to talk about what to include in the video. But we couldn't come up with any idea's for it so then as a group we decided to look for a new songs. A song that has a story line to it and we can come up with an idea for it, so we went back onto to unsigned and found a group called "Silent Film Project" and we all agreed on the song, and immediately we had ideas for the song so we knew that was the song to do. So we emailed the group immediately asking their permission and lyrics to the song.
So the only reason we decided to get a new song was because we had no ideas for the cincere Photoshoot.

Info on the Artist Cincere
The artist Cincere is a singer and a song writer as his first ever song was 'I Do' was first played on Kiss 100 in 2004. It was so good that it has been remixed by someone else with Cincere still in it. Cincere’s WAMI award winning song of the year “Daddy” is a musical masterpiece with the exquisite lilt of a symphony string section. And before when he was young he used to always perform at his local church. Even though Cincere didn't come form a wealthy background he still pursued his ambition to become a world wide artist, in doing so he has had several albums come out. Still he has managed to do well as his record company is called "Armed Force Entertainment" and he is waiting to do an international tour.

Case Study
Director Jamie Thraves made a short film at University, and he used that short film to get himself in to the filming industry. It worked out well in some way as he made 3 shirt film with a budget of £5000 for each film.
This is how the process worked-
This is how the process worked-
- A commissioner from the record label send the track out to 5-10 different directors
- The directors then each all submit and idea
- At this stage no one is paid
- Then the record label picks the best idea and then chooses that director
- Only then is the director paid
And this is how Jamie Thraves became known as he submitted his idea and they are now known as the two best music video's.
They are :
1) Radiohead- Just
£100,000 budget
filmed in three days
2) Cold play- The Scientist
£200,000
filmed in three days
Jamie Thraves most song is for a japanese pop star and the video currently cost £20,000 and that was filmed in two days so one day less than the other two songs he directed.

The things that you will find is obviously the bands name and there new song, but not only that but you will also find things like star rating. It will also say who gave the rating so for example The Sun could of gave it ratings and maybe the FHM.
it will also have places on where you can buy the song from that maybe itunes or maybe HMV.

Getting the music
To get my music i am looking at websites like unsinged.com to find my music because they don't have any copyright music so we wont get in trouble if we use it.
So far i have found some decent songs that we maybe able to use but because it is RnB we not be aloud to use it.
This is why me and my group are discussing carefully on what song we may want to use.

What factor must be taken into consideration when planing a video?
The factors you need to consider when planing a music video is the type of song it is going to be, and the lenght of the song. You will also need to consider how much money you are going to spend on the music video but in our situation the budget it nothing. where you are going to set the music video and the target audience.

LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem ft. Lauren Bennett, GoonRock
This is my current favourite music video because that it has a lot of fast paced dancing. Also majority of the lyrics is at a steady pace only for one section it speeds up but them it slows down. This song is very happy and an up lifting song because it set outside with the sun shining.
The Brief
My task this year is to make a music video which is going to last up to 5 minutes. And i am going to be working in a group. Also part of my coursework i will need to create a 'digipak' which is a cover for a CD and also a magazine 'digipak'.
