Information on Copyright

Copyright is basically someone producing something and then saying its copyrighted, which means that no one els can copy their idea as they had it first.

This is another definition of what copyright means:
"A copyright is a set of exclusive rights granted by a state to the creator of an original work or their assignee for a limited period of time upon disclosure of the work. This includes the right to copy, distribute and adapt the work. In most jurisdictions copyright arises upon fixation and does not need to be registered. Copyright owners have the exclusive statutory right to exercise control over copying and other exploitation of the works for a specific period of time, after which the work is said to enter the public domain. Uses covered under limitations and exceptions to copyright, such as fair use, do not require permission from the copyright owner, but all other uses require permission. Copyright owners can license or permanently transfer or assign their exclusive rights to others.
Initially copyright law applied to only the copying of books. Over time other uses such as translations and derivative works were made subject to copyright. Copyright now covers a wide range of works, includingmapssheet musicdramatic workspaintingsphotographsarchitectural drawingssound recordingsmotion pictures and computer programs. The British Statute of Anne 1709, full title "An Act for the Encouragement of Learning, by vesting the Copies of Printed Books in the Authors or purchasers of such Copies, during the Times therein mentioned", was the first copyright statute." Filming

Today we was going to film but because of the weather we couldn't go out and film as it was raining. And we couldn't go out to film on any other day as no one in the group was free due to work. Also our main singer was ill.

The lyrics

These are the lyrics for the song "Singer Song Writer"

I'm offered forty six of the communicators gifts
I've wasted every drop of ink and every borrowed pencil lead
pretending i have seen something that's not been seen before
in the dusty carpet dirty cups and boot prints on my door
forgive me but i don't know what i'm for or against
I've not read what i'm sending to you all but it's yours

Name me after a Van Gogh spillage
I know where to go in the city
to the places that make heroes of the fools
singing stories of their wasted chances broken rules

I've settled every one of my re-occuring arguments
with a fiction that i lifted from the news and the news you brought
of the punches and the salmon that you caught
whilst living in the real world without me
forgive me but i don't know what i've brought to this party
and i'm drunk on things i wouldn't normally drink and broken hearted
I'm a lucky one it's how Willie Nelson started and perhaps
Paul Simon's gonna harmonise with me someday

Mood Board

This is my mood board, and what this shows it what we will be hoping to do or film. So our mood board shows what type of instrument that we will be using and just generally having fun.

Magazine Advert Analysis

This was an ex students magazine advert that i analysed.

I looked at another magazine advert and i highlighted all the key features of this posters.

Magazine advertisement and album cover

I am writing about how certain bands use there album covers in the magazine advert so when people go out to buy there album they'll know what it will look like. They are very similar the only difference is the crayon writing on the covers are a bit different other than that they both have everything the same.

Our Animatic

This is our animatic, what it is basically is that it is our story board and we took pictures of every scene that we was gonna do. The animatic shows what we could potentially do in our music video.

Talking about Digipak

At first glance this digipak for "Albert Hammond Jr - Yours to keep" looked like the song was for kids. Then we listened to the song and it changed my opinion completely as the song started to feel like taking certain paths with important people in your life. So in this case it would be going through certain situations with the band.

As you can see they copied the design of the cover to the disk to continue the feel of the cover. And the bunnies on the cover represents each member of the band as there is three of them and if you look closely there is three bunnies on the main cover.

New Email

Because we changed songs we had to ask the new band for permission, and they replied back back within 30 minutes and they said that they were okay with it.

Focus group

We filmed some people but then asked some more people of screen.

Q. How does the song make you fell?
A. upbeat- tap your feet, enthusiastic/fun/light. You can dance to it because it has a steady beat.

Q. What ideas do you get from this song?
A. Boy and girl together, being outside on a sunny day. Couples being happy and silly together.

Q. How often do you go on music channels?
A. Very rarely if at all.

Q. What is your favourite song?
A. David Bowie - life on mars

Q. Name an artist/band that this reminds you of?
A. The smiths - the lead singer. also the band kooks.

From this audience research we found out what people want to see in a music video and what they dont want to see, so from this we have decided to have a girl and a boy singing together. They also said that some music video are too dull and boring so they suggested that we go out and have fun and put that in the music video. They said to record the fun scenes we should go down to Central London.

We will be also looking at other music videos that will be similar to ours for inspiration on what to have on our music video, and that will be rock genre and most of there videos will be about the band having fun.

Treatment

Cast and Crew
The resources that we will need is singers and the main singer will be Billy and the two back ups will be Rilwan and Myles. For the ladies part in the song we still haven't found a female singer that will help us in our music blog.

Equipment
And the equipment that we will need are drums, guitar, and a microphone.

These were some of the equipment that will be needed during the filming of the music scene.

Location

The place we are going to be filming is in central London, we will be going round to landmarks that everyone knows about make the video as fun as possible.

This is one of the location that we will be filming outside as it is a Landmark. Also we thing that this is suitable because it would mean that went out to other different locations rather just staying in the hall.

We also want to go outside the O2 Arena to film, because again we wanted to make our film adventurous and not dull by staying in one place.  We will also need the hall which wasn't hard to find.

How to increase sales

The way we would increase our sales would be to make the song appealing to everyone by making the video entertaining or by making the song more appealing to everyone. Because people who already like an artist will get there songs whether they like it or not because they are fans. so to make sure that you make sure you appeal to everyone you have to make sure that you sometimes change your style a bit.

Convention of the Genre

Here are some conventions of the genre are
  • Dancing
  • Signing
  • Back ground dancers
  • Story
  • Artist singing
  • Costumes
  • Body movement
  • instruments
  • Microphones
  • lip synching
  • location

The dancing can make a difference in the video as it can make the video nice or bad.
Were you film it would be everything because it determines wether the video in nice or not.

The Decision!

Today we had a  group meeting and we was going to talk about what to include in the video. But we couldn't come up with any idea's for it so then as a group we decided to look for a new songs. A song that has a story line to it and we can come up with an idea for it, so we went back onto to unsigned and found a group called "Silent Film Project" and we all agreed on the song, and immediately we had ideas for the song so we knew that was the song to do. So we emailed the group immediately asking their permission and lyrics to the song.

So the only reason we decided to get a new song was because we had no ideas for the cincere Photoshoot.
